Frequently Asked Questions

Are there scholarship opportunities?

Selected applicants will go through a financial assessment to determine their family’s ability to contribute to their education. Students are selected independently of their parents' ability to pay for their tuition fees. Scholarships are available but are dependent on the needs and financial situation of the family. After a student is selected, parents may be asked to contribute to the student's school fees according to their ability.

I am not fluent in English, does this matter?

No. Do not be discouraged from applying to UWC because of a lack of fluency in English. It is not a requirement to apply, but it can be one of the factors evaluated during selection.

Can you help me with a scholarship for further education (university etc)?

UWC does not offer scholarships for university or further tertiary education.

How can I get a visa?

If you are admitted to a UWC, our national committee and the specific UWC school will assist you throughout the visa procedure as appropriate.

Can I attend a specific college?

No. You are able to state your preference both in the application form or interview. However, it is at the discretion of the national committee to decide what school aligns best with the needs and application profile of the prospective candidate.

I don’t have a passport. What will happen?

Applicants are encouraged to have passports. But the national committee will give you logistical support where necessary.
